EMT Hybrid Course

MN Board Peace Officer Post approved. CEs are obtained with classroom attendance.

 

Online learning at your individual pace, with an interactive program that has many different modules to meet you learning style.  Full access for 2 years. EMS professionals assist each student over the phone, email, and In person Lab sessions.

LAB sessions Dates:  June 3rd, 6th, 10th, 13th, 17th, 20th-Exam for EMR; Bridge starts 20th, 24th, 27th, July 1st, (OFF the 4th), July 8th, 11th, 15th, 18th, 22nd, 25th- Exam.                                                                                                                    AHA Basic Life Support CPR (BLS) is included in Lab, no extra fee.

*20th/EMR testing is OPTIONAL.  *BRIDGE Course for Current EMR’s, Nurses or qualified students begin the EMT Course starting on June 20th.

Monday and Thursday’s; 5:30-9:30 PM for Lab sessions.

You DO NOT need to have the online work completed prior to the Lab dates.   The Online work can be completed while in the course prior to each lab session.

This course is designed to give you an opportuity to receive your EMR (First Responder) in the first half of the course.  When you pass the skills exam, you can begin to gain experience in the work arena as you continue to learn throughout the EMT program.

Minimum age of 15 years old to begin this program is recommended.                                                                         The EMT Hybrid course is based on Minnesota & National EMS Education Standards that will govern the way that you learn and practice EMS. Additionally, this course meets the current American Heart Association guidelines for CPR and ECC.

We will be using the Emergency Care, which is the most current selection of EMS practice and shows what the EMS systems and EMT’s are doing around the country.

Students will be taught to recognize, safely assess, and effectively manage crisis situations and patients of an emergency nature encountered in the field Prehospital setting. EMT’s can work in areas such as on an Ambulance, in a Emergency Department, Clinic, a EMS team for companies, Fire, Police department, EMT Event work, and Transportation drivers.

The EMSRB requires:
A clear background check on past criminal activities and must be eligible to take the National Registry board exam which is taken at the end of the course.

Bring to class day 1:
1. Laptop to redeem your eCode for the online and eText.
2. If you are current, with your AHA BLS CPR card, then you will not need to complete CPR in our course.

A kitchen is on-site and restaurants are in the area.
